Lossapardo is a Franco-Senegalese artist whose multidisciplinary practice moves freely between painting, animated filmmaking, and music.
Self-taught, he has developed a singular visual and sonic universe. Through figurative scenes of everyday life, often close to self-portraiture, his work explores solitude and light, capturing suspended moments between silence and contemplative states. His work follows his wanderings across the world between Tokyo, Brooklyn, Dakar, Toronto, and Torcy, the city where he grew up. He builds a body of work that is warm, introspective, and understated, rendered in a palette of deep, rich colors.
"His sensitive works, discoverable on his Instagram profile (@lossapardo), evoke the strange delicacy of Andrew Wyeth or the sticky melancholy of Edward Hopper" Libération, "Lossapardo peintre en sentiments," by Patrice Bardot
His talent has earned him prestigious commissions: his illustrations have appeared in The New York Times Magazine and The New Yorker, and graced the covers of books by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Alongside this, Lossapardo has directed animated short films and music videos for artists such as FKJ. He also created for Netflix a black-and-white animated short in tribute to the writer René Maran. His animated film L'Étoffe, created for the humanitarian medical NGO ALIMA, was selected in official competition at the Annecy Festival in 2022.
In 2024, Lossapardo took a new step with the release of his debut album If I Were To Paint It, in which he merges painting and music in a bold proposition that confirms his resolutely multidisciplinary talent.
His work has been celebrated by outlets including Arte, Beaux Arts Magazine, Libération, Numéro, Creative Review, and Madame Figaro, which awarded him the Prix Double Dôme.
